Ronda-ronda Bukit Fraser

Assalamualaikum wbt.... bismillah..

Lagi pun, bukan jauh sangat pun. Boleh balik hari. Tak perlu nak menginap pun kalau setakat nak ronda-ronda.

Tak rugi bawa budak berdua ni jenjalan. Tiada permintaan khas macam mandi2 ke, shopping2 mainan ke.....sama je macam mama diorang. Suka jalan-jalan menikmati pemandangan.

Waktu tu hujan agak lebat disulami renyai-renyai. Tak kuasa nak tunggu giliran bergambar waktu hujan-hujan cam tu. Ambil gambar macam ni sajalah. Hehe... jadilah, ye dak? Daripada takde, kekdahnya.

Disebabkan hujan, kami lepak santai je di kedai makan berhampiran menara jam. Tak snap pula gambar nama kedainya. Boleh tahan juga harga makanan di situ. Boleh order masakan panas goreng-goreng kat situ. Kat sini sebab duduk lepak agak lama, kami memesan kuayteow sup. Tak sempat snap, dah licin Amsyar makan. hahaha..

Agak bosan juga menunggu hujan berhenti. Lepas tu cari toilet.

Tengok-tengok cantik dan bersih kemain tandasnya.

Ya. Agak betul dakwaan mereka.

1. Hiking or bush walking
Emerges first on the list of things to do in Fraser's Hill. With this in mind, you may consider loading hiking sticks, leech proof socks, hat and a knapsack to carry drinking water and basic tools/emergency supplies such as map, torch or jacket. Known of a dense forestry in the surroundings, any encounter is possible. Thus, it is wise to leave your trekking plan with your family/friends/local police station and the time you're expected to return.

Eight hiking trails are listed on the tourist literature. From 500 m short trails to over 10 km return loop, each trail offers a difference experience and steep in history.

2. Bird watching
A notable centre for birdwatching aficionados, the hill station has over 270 species of local and migratory birds flocking here together. Make sure you bring a good pair of binoculars. Pine Tree Hill is one of most recommended spots for bird watching. To get there, one has to hike on a full day trekking on Pine Tree trail over 5 km. Started at the cul de sac high Pine Road near Seri Intan private bungalow, this trail required high physical fitness hikers. The slope is steep and most parts are undulations.

A less challenging trail to engage with bird watching is bishop's trail. Haven for bird watchers, the hiking trail of this bird sanctuary however is very slippery after raining days and home to the blood sucking leeches.

3. Biking
Not really for amateurs and children. Only recommended for pros, best to go in group and dress up with full set of safety gears. Never compromise on helmets, so do the knee/elbow guards. Most avid bikers are spotted challenging the steep and winding paved road after The Gap bridge. Motorized vehicles are running below 40 km/h at this stretch making it relatively safe despite narrow road is hugging the cliff.

4. Photography
Whatever you're going for in the things to do in Fraser's Hill, never leave behind your shooting gears!
From the most-photographed clock tower, colonial architectures to century-old trees, every shot serves as a beautiful memory. Flash, lenses, spare batteries and of course your pretty models!

5. Golfing
Given a picturesque nature and treated with spectacular hill terraces, not many know the green on Fraser's Hill is the earliest highland golf course in Malaysia. Calm and tranquility, they will do wonders to the soul as one putts. Constructed in 1925, this 9-hole course was laid on a former tin mining ground. In the 1970s, an 18-hole course was built on the peak which the latter is located at Jeriau about 3 km away.

6. Picnicking - Jeriau Waterfall

Whether a stay over or a day outing, picnicking is always a great choice. Cool climate adds to the joy of sitting outdoor, enjoying nature while tucking in especially grills, BBQ and steamboat. Go further away from town center, you would be greeted with more roofing huts. Sprinkling around the hill, they reminded me of the fabulous camping zone in the Texas's state parks.

If you're looking for something beyond a basic shelter and pine trees, Jeriau Waterfall can be a smart choice. From town center, move on Samantan Road and not too far after Smokehouse Hotel, you'd be greeted with a simple arch-entrance. Spacious and well-paved footpath, gazebos, benches, BBQ pits line along the river's bank and there is even a small playground for children. To reach the waterfall zone where one can catch the sight of cascading water and multiple-tiers pools, a walk of 5 to 10 minutes is required but it is certainly rewarding.

7. Paddling
The one place for this activity is Allan's Water. A stone throw from children's playground, it is a lovely spot surrounded by tree-ferns opposite a Hindu temple. Not a super size lake, it is more like a pond. Formerly a dam that served as a reservoir supplying water to Fraser's Hill, it is great venue to get the children occupied. Operating hours start at 9 am to 4:30 pm (Monday to Friday, and Sunday) or 7 pm (on Saturday & public holidays). However, they break for 2 hours lunch from 12:30 pm.

8. Horse riding
On a small equestrian course of about 200-m loop, one can experience riding on retired racing horses with a fee at The Paddock of Fraser's Hill. Sits on Valley Road, it is merely opposite the 9-hole golf green of the town. For amateurs or for the sake of experience. Nothing more than that.

9. Archery
Keen to fire arrows on the bullseye target? For Legolas (of Lord of The Rings) wannabes, step into archery range over the slope near the entrance of The Paddock. With RM 8 per person, you're spared with 10 times to experiment with a bow and arrows. Who knows, you could have found your new talent here :).

10. Relaxing
Do nothing, just holidaying! Take time to embrace your nature-loving side. After all, a retreat is meant to recharge and rejuvenate, and not making you more exhausted after the trip. Book an apartment or rent a bungalow. Sleep as much as you wish and eat whenever you're starving. Go without watch, without an iPad and without broadband. Disconnect from the material world and permit nature to be your best friend Laughing.

Apesal rasa seram entah. Kalau ramai-ramai, ok la kot. Lepas tu singgah di Allan's Water. Kemain ramai beratur. Tak payah la Amsyar. Next time, ok?

Cantik dop?

Seronok bila dapat tengok bunga-bunga berwarna-warni ni.

Aww...nak tunjuk bunga ke nak tunjuk ketiak ni? hahaha...

#sayur-sayuran.

Sebelum balik, ronda-ronda lagi tengok persekitaran dan Old Smoke House Bukit Fraser. Lepas tu duduk rehat di taman permainan bagi can Qisya main dulu sampai puas hati.

Keseluruhannya, not bad juga Bukit Fraser ni. Next time insya Allah. Encik hubby kata ok je Bukit Fraser ni. Seronok lepak-lepak ambil angin bukit katanya.

Terasa perjalanan turun lagi jauh berbanding perjalanan semasa menaiki Bukit Fraser. Alhamdulillah misi 'asal sampai' saya ke Bukit Fraser selesai. Next time boleh plan percutian family insya Allah...
